Players have long complained about the large number of cheaters.
The creators of Arc Raiders continue their fight against cheaters. Recently, they decided to tighten the rules, which will create additional problems for those who like to use third-party software to gain an advantage.
The Steam Family Sharing loophole will no longer work, where the host user shared the game to other accounts for cheating — now the punishment extends to the entire "family".
Arc Raiders restrictions (bans) will work as follows:
- If any Steam Family Sharing account receives a ban while using a shared Arc Raiders license, then all accounts in that "family" will receive a restriction.
- If the license (game) owner receives a ban, they will lose the ability to share Arc Raiders via Steam Family Sharing — after that, "any player gaining access to the game through family sharing will have to leave that family group and purchase their own copy to continue playing."
- The restrictions have the same duration and type for all accounts connected to one family.
