It recently became known that four former employees of miHoYo (HoYoverse), known to many for Genshin Impact, HSR, and ZZZ, have been sentenced to real terms (imprisonment).
- Three former employees of the supply and maintenance group "used their official position to illegally extort commissions and kickbacks [bribes] from partners." One received a year and 4 months, while the other two will spend a month less in prison.
- A former employee of the merchandise project management group "used his position to help several suppliers obtain illegal benefits and accepted bribes." He was sentenced to 6 months in prison.
The miHoYo statement also mentions a former member of the Genshin Impact marketing team who "used his position to benefit his own third-party firm, which is recognized as a serious conflict of interest."
He was fired and also blacklisted by the Sunshine Integrity Alliance and Corporate Anti-Fraud Alliance, which "means a lifetime ban on employment." An investigation is currently underway.
