Gaming Hardware Prices to Rise Even Further
A ton of raw materials on the world market now costs about $13,000, which is an all-time high. The price has jumped almost 50% in a year: in April 2025, a ton of copper could be bought for $8,700.
Popular YouTuber and head of Thermal Grizzly, Roman Hartung (der8auer), notes that the price increase is already affecting business. He cannot obtain copper elements for cooling systems at an acceptable price: at the end of 2025, one element cost about 190 euros, now it costs 280 euros.
This will directly affect the cost of gaming PCs and consoles, as copper is used in many electronic components, including CPU and GPU cooling systems.
