Initially, the studio planned a sequel to Days Gone — Days Gone 2, but PlayStation did not approve the plot. Instead, the developers were redirected to a game-service with survival elements, but this idea did not develop either.
According to a former employee, one of the reasons for the cancellation was slow development: after three years, the project did not have a "concrete plan" that would convince PlayStation. After restructuring at Sony, the game was shut down.
The editors of mp1st received the first shots from the development. The video shows an early version of a third-person shooter with a military theme: tests of skills and gadgets, drones, devices on forearms, turrets and game hubs, hinting at multiplayer and a long game session.
According to leaks from former employees, more than 30 types of enemies and a modular weapon system with support for over 100 types of weapons were planned. There was also a large-scale progression — experience levels, rewards for events and reputation, an emphasis on multiplayer and movement around the world with transport and other ways of exploration.
