It recently became known that miHoYo (HoYoverse) has filed a new lawsuit. The lawyers for the creators of Genshin Impact have sued the administrator of HomDGCat (his nickname is the same as the name of the site) in the United States.
This project is essentially a "wiki" for various leaks related to miHoYo games — Genshin Impact and Honkai Star Rail. Players can find out in advance about the content and some details of the updates.
miHoYo's lawyers claim that HomDGCat's activities have damaged the company, and that content leaks have "negatively impacted public interest and enthusiasm [for updates]" (i.e., reduced hype around official developer announcements).
The lawsuit notes that HomDGCat "refused to refrain from its illegal data collection activities or from improperly obtaining information from the beta".
HomDGCat is accused of copyright infringement and is being asked to pay damages. They want to shut down the resource of the same name.
