Insider Dusk Golem decided to clarify the situation. Previously, some sites wrote about a fixed 15 hours of gameplay, but, according to him, such estimates are misleading. According to the insider's sources, the game is longer than Resident Evil Village, but slightly shorter than the remake of the fourth part. Director Koshi Nakanishi added that it is difficult to accurately measure the duration of a horror game, so players should expect the series' usual, rich amount of content.
One of the key innovations of the ninth part is the system of indirect interaction between the two heroes. The developers considered directly transferring items through boxes at save points, but abandoned the idea so as not to complicate the gameplay and not disrupt the feeling of isolation. Instead, players will see the consequences of the second character's actions in the environment: for example, Leon may find supplies left by Grace or encounter enemies that she did not have time to destroy.
Capcom also confirmed the presence of advanced systems for playing after completing the story, which should increase replayability. They separately clarified that the demo for the press takes place in a sanatorium, but in the full version, a center of the destroyed city with recognizable creatures from classic parts will also appear.
According to Dusk Golem, copies for reviews have already been sent out, and reviews are expected around February 24, a few days before the release on consoles and PC, including Nintendo Switch 2.
