On the eve of a major restart, the Overwatch brand is demonstrating record attention on Steam, unseen since the game's release in 2023.
Last weekend, the hero shooter gathered 69,881 concurrent players, which is 63% more than a month ago. The result allowed it to bypass the statistics of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 and Battlefield 6.
However, the game is still overshadowed by past problems: most reviews on Steam remain negative due to the "review bombing" from the Overwatch 2 era.
"Will the new content and return to the roots not only attract crowds of players for one weekend, but also change the brand's image for the most demanding fans?" — a question that tomorrow's launch will answer.
