First Surprise of State of Play: Sony is Preparing an Updated Controller - Rumor

Sony has confirmed that a State of Play show dedicated to third-party games will be held this week. PlayStation's own announcements are also expected, which will go beyond games.

Before the official announcement, information for the Asian market appeared online: a new DualSense controller in the Midnight Black version will be released on March 5, 2026.

At first glance, this may seem like insignificant news — there is already a version in this color on the market. However, the new controller has an important difference: the old version had USB-C on one side of the cable and USB-A on the other. The new DualSense will have USB-C on both sides, which will allow it to be connected not only to PS5 and PC, but also to smartphones.
