’83 is positioned as the spiritual successor to the Rising Storm series. The developers emphasize realistic combat and authentic equipment for soldiers of the late 20th century, during the Cold War period.
Players can expect battles in a 40-on-40 format, where they can take control of NATO or USSR soldiers. Matches are designed for 30–40 minutes and are focused on tactical gameplay in the spirit of Hell Let Loose. Generals on both sides will have access to a "meta-game" in the style of a real-time strategy, managing units and coordinating actions on the battlefield.
The latest trailer prepares players for the early access launch of ’83, which is scheduled for the first half of 2026. Previously, the release was expected at the end of 2025, but the timeline has been adjusted.
