Super Meat Boy and The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth have become a great success, but none of them started as fast as Mewgenics. The game, which was in development for almost eight years, paid off all costs in just three hours.
Last night, Mewgenics online exceeded 115,000 concurrent players, joining a narrow circle of projects with such a result. For comparison, The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth peaked at 70,701 players, and Super Meat Boy at 5,153.
McMillen wrote on X that the success of the game guarantees the release of a console version on all platforms, but the exact date is not yet known.
