The Lavka Igr publishing house announced that pre-orders have opened for the dynamic board game "Spartacus. Blood and Treachery," intended for persons over 18 years old. This is a 2020 reissue with new artwork and the exclusive expansion "Snake and Wolf" (for now it is being released only in Russian).
Right now, a combo lot with the board game, the expansion, and a set of promo cards can be purchased for 4,990 rubles, Handson coins for 6,990 rubles, a set of acrylic tokens from Meeple Foxes for 1,390 rubles, and a set of acrylic denarii from Meeple Foxes for 3,490 rubles.
In this project for 3–4 people, each player takes on the role of a dominus — the head of one of the influential houses of the city of Capua during the times of Ancient Rome. The houses compete with each other for influence in the city and also fight for dominant positions, using political intrigue and staging spectacular gladiator battles in the arena.
Each dominus receives all kinds of resources at their disposal to carry out their plans. Guards protect the player from rivals' intrigues, while slaves run the household and take care of the family's prosperity. Participants also own gladiator schools, through which they can gain glory and influence.
The main goal is to become the most influential house in Capua while preserving and increasing the family's prosperity and power. Players will have to bribe people, poison, steal, betray, extort, and interfere with each other in every possible way.
Thanks to the "Snake and Wolf" expansion, the board game will feature two new houses, intrigue and market cards, and new rules that make it possible to play with six people. "Spartacus. Blood and Treachery" will reach the warehouse in summer 2026.
