The project has become a development of Asphalt 9: Legends and, on the new hardware, has gotten rid of the technical limitations of the previous version.
The main change is the graphics. The game runs in native 4K resolution in docked mode and aims for a stable 60 FPS. Updated lighting and particle effects make crashes and jumps comparable to the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions. This is a significant step forward compared to the first Switch.
The Unite version supports full crossplay and cross-saves. Switch 2 owners can play with PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and mobile users and transfer progress between platforms.
The game is distributed in the eShop using a free-to-play model with microtransactions.
