In the latest financial report, the company noted that the game is successful due to the sale of new spaceships. After a few months, they become available in the regular game distribution and can be purchased with in-game currency, not real money.
The financial incentive is driving the game's development. Six new ships will appear in Elite this year. The Kestrel Mk 2, a new combat vehicle that can be seen in action in the video, will be released this month.
In April, the delayed Operations update will be released, reworking infantry combat in Elite Dangerous: Odyssey. A reboot of one of the game's key features is planned for the fall. This is expected to be related to deep space exploration, one of Elite's main themes, which can be supplemented with new types of planets and life forms.
