Square Enix is trying to revive Dragon Quest with remakes that preserve the spirit of the originals. Fans are asking for the same approach to other series, most often mentioning Final Fantasy IX and Chrono Trigger.
Despite statements from Square Enix representatives about their desire to make a Chrono Trigger remake, there has been no specific information yet. However, an unofficial but authoritative source assures: it's better to ask for something else, because the Chrono Trigger remake is already being created.

Chrono is already in development. Let's ask for something else, like Triangle Strategy 2 or a real sequel to Final Fantasy Tactics.
The insider did not reveal details. It is unclear whether this will be an HD-2D remake or a project in the spirit of Final Fantasy Tactics. There is no official confirmation yet.
