It recently became known about a new round of layoffs at Ubisoft. This time, specialists from the studio in Toronto are being fired.
A Ubisoft representative explained that these reductions are part of a larger savings plan, which includes a major restructuring, the closure of such studios, and the cancellation of a number of projects:
This was not an easy decision and in no way reflects the talent, dedication or contribution of the employees affected. Our priority now is to support them through this transition period by providing generous severance packages and comprehensive employment assistance
The company separately clarified that Ubisoft Toronto will continue to work on the Splinter Cell remake and will continue to support other teams, including Rainbow Six Siege.
