The enthusiast was very upset by the closure of Bluepoint Games.
Recently, Sony closed the studio Bluepoint Games. Some FromSoftware fans had previously speculated that it might make a Bloodborne remake.
However, there is no such project, and a fan-made Bloodborne remake has been banned by Sony PlayStation. Against the backdrop of news about the studio's closure, developer Maxime Foulquier decided to publish a photo of a previously received "cease and desist" letter from lawyers demanding that work on the project be stopped:
Sony sent me a cease and desist letter regarding my fan-made Bloodborne remake, which I talked about in November 2024. I was incredibly inspired by this project and dedicated a lot of my free time to it. And then I received the very letter you see in the photo. I then said to myself: "Okay... I expected this might happen. Maybe it's because a real Bloodborne remake is actually in development — and Bluepoint is working on it for launch on PlayStation 6?".
Previously, Maxime Foulquier had not said anything about this. Initially, he wanted to rework all the materials created for the project and turn them into a new game in the universe of the original world inspired by Bloodborne:
My original plan was to publish the letter when the new game was ready for announcement. Unfortunately, plans have changed. I preferred to talk about it now because the feeling of disappointment is huge. The closure of Bluepoint is a colossal loss for the industry and for the dream of a Bloodborne remake.
