The project conveys the spirit of the cult Heroes of Might and Magic III.
Recently, the developers of Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era spoke with John Van Caneghem, the creator of the Might & Magic franchise and «Heroes».
The developer shared his memories of his work, as well as his impressions of the Olden Era demo. He described it as a «beautiful game»:
I am very impressed with what you have done and how cool it looks. I am very inspired. You know, we have been making such games for years, through several projects, gradually developing technologies. And you need to do it all at once — and that's very impressive.
According to John Van Caneghem, Olden Era conveys the spirit of the Heroes II - III era:
Plus, you have elements from different parts of the series that fans like or that they came up with themselves. This is a very large and ambitious job. I am really impressed and glad that I can help a little and bring it to completion.
