Chinese companies continue to get rid of assets in the West.
It recently became known that Chinese Tencent has decided to close another studio in the West. Employees of TiMi Montréal announced the termination of work on social networks.
TiMi Montreal was founded in 2021 and was positioned as a studio that works on «AAA open-world games for various platforms».
A few years ago, Ashraf Ismail, the creative director of the Assassin’s Creed franchise, who was fired from Ubisoft for inappropriate behavior, joined Timi Studio Group, owned by Tencent.
Over the past years, TiMi Montreal has not announced a single game. There is also no information on whether the studio participated in supporting projects of other teams.
Another Chinese company, NetEase, is also getting rid of assets in the West.
