It seems that with the new generation of Xbox, players will receive two Call of Duty games at once.

Recently, insider TheGhostOfHope received information from his sources about how the delay in the release of the next generation Xbox "seriously hit" Call of Duty's marketing plans.

Due to this delay, Activision came up with the idea of releasing not one, but two Call of Duty games with the release of the new Xbox — a traditional installment with multiplayer, as well as a separate zombie game (presumably being developed by Treyarch).

According to *, Microsoft wants Activision to be more flexible and less dependent on annual releases:

It is believed that if the production cycle were faster and more coordinated, the company would have been able to take advantage of the popularity of extraction shooters in time — for example, by releasing the DMZ update earlier.

Some players have already started imagining being asked for "$140 for the latest Call of Duty."

The insider noted that, according to rumors, the release mechanic will be similar to Infinite Warfare and Modern Warfare Remastered, which were released together. However, there is no 100% certainty yet:

I assume it will be [released] roughly like MW Remastered / IW, so nothing crazy like $140, haha — but I can't say for sure.
