Model Milena "Anlai Yu" Datskaya invites cosplay fans to immerse themselves once again in the emotional universe of GRIS. In the image of the main character, she embodied the path of returning colors to the world and finding peace in her soul after a heavy loss.
Cosplayer Milena «Anlai Yu» Datskaya decided to remind people about the existence of the unusual platformer GRIS, which was released back in 2018. She shared a full photoset dedicated to this game.
Thanks to photographer Riz, retoucher LUST-IK and other specialists, the model was able to transform into Gris — a naive girl who took refuge in her inner world from the unbearable pain experienced in reality.
The main theme of the project is overcoming grief through the five stages of acceptance according to the Kübler-Ross model: denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance. The world of GRIS is initially gray, but with each stage passed, colors return to it. In this way, the developers show gamers the process of the heroine's emotional healing step by step.
The project is completely devoid of dialogues and text, relying exclusively on visual storytelling, colors and symbolism to convey the inner universe of the protagonist through watercolor landscapes and smooth animation.
