Beamdog has announced the start of beta testing for update 2.7 for Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition and the second part, as well as Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition.
This year marks 14 years since the release of Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition on PC, and the developers thanked the community for their support:
Our goal is to ensure the stable operation of these classic games in the face of constantly changing technical requirements and operating systems on both PC and mobile devices. Unfortunately, we do not have the resources to update the console versions: this would require extensive certification procedures that we cannot currently pass. We are focused on improving the overall level of convenience and quality of work. That's why update 2.7 introduces full cloud saving and native support for Apple Silicon-based Macs.
The developers from Beamdog did not specify how long the patch for Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition and Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition will be in "beta release" status.
