Retroid Pocket 6 portable console with 12 GB of RAM discontinued

Due to the rising cost of memory chips, Retroid had to discontinue the Pocket 6 portable console model with 12 GB of RAM. In addition, the version of this device with 8 GB of RAM is now more expensive.

Retroid has announced some unpleasant news for gamers. Due to serious changes in the global memory chip market — including the ongoing shortage and a sharp increase in the cost of both RAM and permanent modules — developers have had to adjust the price of the Retroid Pocket 6 portable console.

As of today, the version with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of built-in storage has risen in price by $15 (1164 rubles). Now the device costs $244 (18,934 rubles) instead of the previous $229 (17,770 rubles).

In addition, the company had to discontinue the Pocket 6 model with 12 GB of RAM and a 256 GB storage. The recent price jump has reached a level that developers, unfortunately, cannot compensate for on their own.

With the new component costs, Retroid is unable to continue producing the 12 GB version at a reasonable price. The company plans to fulfill all current orders and pre-orders for this model.
