Riot Games has paid attention to the statistics of players in the ranked mode of League of Legends who are in "Iron".
This is the lowest division in the LoL ranking system, but at the same time, a significant proportion of players are not newcomers at all, but veteran users who simply could not rise higher in rank:
....about 14% of players worldwide are in "Iron", mostly experienced veterans. We want "Iron" to be a place for truly new players, not a permanent home for old-timers. Therefore, we decided to adjust the ratio of MMR and rank in order to remove more experienced players from "Iron" and keep the division as a real starting level for beginners
Riot Games admits that a new rank below "Iron" may appear in League of Legends in the future.
In the course of communication with community members, the developer said that the company uses the words Wood and Sand for a potential rank to which veteran players from "Iron" can be moved.
