A massive leak of Minecraft source code recently occurred. Researchers are diving into the "Legacy Console Edition" and sharing various findings.
For example, MrLordSith was able to find "remnants" of developer Notch's attempts to add a foam effect to the waterfall:
MrLordSith also restored "floating islands" and found traces of a C++ programming language lesson in the code.
In addition, community members found SWF-format files. They indicate the existence of a canceled version of "Minecraft Windows Edition."
It is assumed that at one point, 4J Studios, which was responsible for various console ports, was working on a PC version (before the "Windows 10 Edition" appeared).
