Crimson Desert to Showcase PS5 Pro Performance - 4K, PSSR 2.0, and Ray Tracing

Gameplay snippets and project details have surfaced online. They provide an idea of what to expect from the South Korean studio's game. The main emphasis is currently on the PC version, but console owners, especially those with Sony systems, will also get many features.

The PlayStation blog confirmed the use of capabilities of both PS5 versions, although the project was primarily optimized for the base model. The developers utilized the SSD for streaming the huge world and maintaining a detailed picture even at long distances. This is achieved using Geometry Shader Oversubscription and NGG Culling technologies, which allow rendering many objects without losing detail.

The game will show its full potential on the PS5 Pro. The console's boosted processor frequency mode will allow offering two graphics modes: native 4K at approximately 40 FPS or 60 FPS with reduced resolution.

Support for the updated PSSR technology has also been confirmed. The improved upscaler will allow outputting images in 4K at a higher frame rate and with ray tracing enabled, which will make the lighting more realistic.

The developers are also using the capabilities of the DualSense controller.
