Recently, the authors of Helldivers 2 solved a long-standing problem with the weight of the PC version files: the new build takes up several tens of GB. The old version of the game (weighing 150 GB) could still be used.
Now Arrowhead Game Studios is preparing to completely abandon the old "heavy" version:
After extensive testing of our "lightweight" build, and after weeks of your feedback and stress tests, including a significant influx of new and returning players during the major Machinery of Oppression update, we are confident that players are responding well to this lightweight version of Helldivers 2.
The authors of Helldivers 2 plan to remove the "heavy" build of the game from Steam on March 17 - the next patch will be released on this day.
