It seems there will still be no official CS: GO events.
At the beginning of March, Valve fully brought Counter-Strike: Global Offensive back to Steam. Previously, access to the client could be obtained through the "properties" of the current CS2, but now it has a separate page.
This version of the shooter still generates great interest, and Dust2 asked Valve about the possibility of holding CS: GO tournaments — the company will not grant permission. At the same time, it still licenses events for CS 1.6 and CS: Source.
Valve did not comment to Dust2 on its decision to prohibit tournament organizers from holding CS:GO events.
Journalists suggested that this could "dilute" the player base in Counter-Strike 2.
