Because of this, the developers face enormous responsibility. Will they be able to meet the expectations of millions of players waiting for a new technological and gaming breakthrough?
Craig Clark, chief developer at Expression Games, whose team is preparing the shooter Hell Let Loose: Vietnam, shared his opinion. In an interview, he stated that Rockstar is now "shaking with fear" because the stronger the hype around the game grows, the more pressure on the developers. According to him, the main question for the team is whether they have reached the level that players expect.
Clark also cited an example of audience expectations. Some fans want to see maximum realism in the game, for example, virtual garbage collectors who come every Tuesday at 9 am and empty the containers.
It is these details that cause the greatest concern. According to the developer, the bar of expectations has been raised so high that it will be extremely difficult to avoid disappointing part of the audience.
Clark admitted that he himself faces difficulties before the release of his own game, but openly sympathizes with colleagues from Rockstar. In his opinion, the main part of the work on GTA VI has already been completed, but uncertainty due to the future reaction of players remains a serious source of tension.
