Recently, PSPrices drew attention to the fact that Sony is expanding testing of a dynamic pricing system in the PlayStation Store — for some users, games cost more than for others.
Judging by their observations, games from PlayStation Studios and partners are now participating in the dynamic pricing program: The Last of Us Part II Remastered, Helldivers 2, Marvel's Spider-Man 2, Gran Turismo 7, Astro Bot, God of War Ragnarök, Stellar Blade.
However, not everyone is happy about dynamic pricing. Users like oooriole09 are not thrilled with the positive reaction from community members. In his view, this is merely a way for the corporation to maximize its profits — to push gamers to spend even more money:
What is disgusting is how many people think [dynamic pricing] is something beneficial. It is a tool created to generate revenue and maximize profit — how could this possibly be in any way beneficial to you as a consumer? Yes, you can find some small benefit in it, but essentially all of this is designed solely so that you personally spend more than you are spending now.
