Creative Director Mikael Kasurinen said:
We call it a sequel, and it really is a sequel, but it's also an independent product that stands on its own two feet. For me, these games go together like two brothers. Each belongs to the same family, but with its own identity, desire and destiny, and they are connected.
Kasurinen added that Dylan's journey through Manhattan to fight the Hiss and other paranormal threats is "the opposite of Jesse's journey." Unlike Jesse, who found herself in the Oldest House, Dylan has spent his entire life within these concrete walls and is seeing the real world for the first time.
The transition from isolation, confinement, a strange place that was normal for him, to the outside world. This world is strange and unusual for him, but familiar to us. And there's something really exciting about that.
The game will be a major step forward: it will offer an "open" world, freedom to explore Manhattan, meet the remaining residents, and uncover secrets.
Remedy promises that Control Resonant will be their "biggest and most ambitious game."
