The authors of Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era have presented a new developer diary. They talked about how they reworked some elements of the game after community criticism.
For example, the game's interface was partially redesigned to "be closer to the classic games and evoke a sense of nostalgia":
Our main goal was to make the appearance more attractive without losing functionality and maintaining the style of the classic era. The new interface will also be further improved during early access.

The changes also affected the battlefield — some players wanted it to be a little bigger:
Now [the field] has not only increased in size, but the background has also been expanded to give the image more depth. In addition, you can now zoom in and out on any object or creature involved in the battle. This change is intended not only to expand opportunities for strategy (including old-school tactics), but also to add a little more space before the first clash of squads.
