Bungie Responded to Marathon Criticism: The Game Will Become Easier, and Prices Will Be Revised

Players complained about microtransactions in Marathon. Bungie responded promptly and issued a statement.

In particular, a $10 set gave 1100 LUX, while most skins cost 1120 LUX. Bungie will fix this: the set will give exactly 1120 LUX, and those who purchased it earlier will receive compensation in the game.

The studio will also improve the quality of cosmetic items so that players feel real value when spending.

Also, considering the complaints about the high level of difficulty, fixes will appear in the next update:

  • increase the display distance of markers from 10 to 20 meters;
  • add more first-aid kits and boxes of ammunition to the Perimeter map;
  • increase the starting amount of ammunition in the free MIDA, CyberAcme, and Arachne kits.

But will Bungie satisfy the audience? Some believe that the developers are doing the right thing and are simply smoothing out the most annoying elements of the gameplay. Others argue that the studio is beginning to blur the most important distinguishing feature of Marathon: its ruthless, hardcore character.
