Some players had complaints about the author of the cozy game Honcho. Until recently, it was assumed that users would only be able to play as a woman.
The developer paid attention to the complaints and took a creative approach to solving the problem. He has a limited budget, but a solution was found — a bonus from the Resident Evil franchise helped.
He added the ability to play as Mr. Tofu in Honcho — a sentient block of tofu that hides the player's body (and with the ability to hide hands):
This game is funded by hopes and dreams, so it's unlikely that I'll add a fully developed male character with separate unlockable costumes and storylines. I hope this is a reasonable compromise.
This is not a joke, he really decided to use the "Tofu" model for the male character:
[...] who am I to tell others how to enjoy their project? I can't spend months creating animations, rigging, and testing a completely new character model. Tofu fit these constraints, and I chose it because I'm a big fan of Resident Evil 2.
