Recently, the creator of the original Overwatch, Jeff Kaplan, reminded us of himself again. He had a conversation with Lex Fridman and announced a new project.
The creator returns to the gaming industry with The Legend of California — a first-person multiplayer survival shooter. The game will take place on the island of California during the gold rush era.
Players will be invited to do the usual things for the genre: explore the world, collect resources, craft and build their own ranch, mine, and stables.
The difficulty levels of the locations will vary. As an example, Kaplan cited "the Mojave Desert": on one server it can act as a starting location, and on another — one of the most difficult.
