This year, fans are celebrating the 25th anniversary of the first "Gothic". The games of the franchise still attract players and are supported by modders.
A fan remaster on the Unreal Engine was released earlier. It is integrated into Steam: you can access it via "Beta versions" in the library:

The official Gothic 1 Remake project is also in development, and is expected to be released on June 5, 2026.
