FromSoftware disabled some things that modders were able to restore.
Thanks to the ShadPS4 emulator, players have the opportunity to run Bloodborne on PC. Various modders have joined in and started refining the project.
fromsoftserve has presented a new video dedicated to the update of the unofficial remaster "BB PC Remaster".
Tech enthusiasts were able to enable some hidden settings, which allowed them to improve the graphics. fromsoftserve clarified that all the frames shown are on the game engine, ReShade was not used:
We'll take a look at the capabilities of the hidden SSR (screen space reflections) feature in Bloodborne. It is automatically applied to the entire scene, which is much broader compared to how SSR is used in Sekiro, Elden Ring, and Armored Core 6. The feature was never enabled in Bloodborne, and, as I assume, largely due to performance considerations, since the game was only released on PS4 and never received a patch for PS4 Pro.
In addition, * showed a heightmap that FromSoftware made for parallax mapping. It was also not used in the game.
The modder also "enabled FULL planar reflections in the fishing village." During the battle with the boss "Orphan of Kos," you can see reflections of the character and the opponent.
