On March 16, Hypnohead studio and tinyBuild will present a major update "Edge of Insanity" and DLC "Crowns of History" for The King Is Watching.
The free update adds new events, artifacts, and advisors. Among the artifacts are the Sphere of Summoning, the Butcher's Axe, the Nail for Self-Flagellation, and others. New advisors will appear: Village Headman, Merchant, Banker, and Nurse.
In the DLC "Crowns of History" players will be able to play as three new rulers: Cleopatra, Tai Zong, and Xerxes. Cleopatra controls armies through death and summoning units, collecting canopic jars for new Egyptian troops and using the abilities "Ancient Call", "Posthumous Harvest", and "Blessing of the Pharaoh".
Tai Zong enhances offensive buildings and summons lightning with the skills "More Fire", "Emperor's Wrath" and "Heavenly Retribution". Xerxes controls a fragile but destructive army with the skills "Ephemeral Existence", "Summoning of the Immortals", and "Sands of Time".
The developers have improved balance, build assembly, and added new maps with unique bosses and mechanics. In the near future, there are plans to rework the interface on Steam Deck.
The update is free, the DLC is paid.
