In its new financial report, Sega Sammy stated that the mobile business's profit was lower than expected.
Rovio found it difficult to realize the initially planned business development, and the profitability of this area fell below initial expectations.
According to Sega, the situation is due to rapid changes in the global mobile gaming market: many large projects were released in a short time, and competition for the audience has noticeably increased. As a result, Rovio's value was revised and is now estimated at approximately $578 million.
Rovio is just one of the studios within Sega. The company also owns Relic Entertainment, Two Point Studios, and Atlus.
