Photographer Ekaterina Morpheeva suddenly remembered the universe of the adventure game INDIKA, which takes place in an alternative Russia of the late 19th century.
During her photo shoot, cosplayers Alexandra "BAIKAL" Baikal and Sanya "Pani Sanya" Murygina appeared as characters from this project — Indika and Ilya.
Indika is the main character and a nun who hears the voice of the Devil in her head. She is a complex and ambiguous character whose story is filled with reflections on faith, morality, and the search for oneself in an absurd world.
Ilya is a prisoner who escaped from a crashed train transporting prisoners. He is looking for a miraculous artifact — Kudets, which, in his opinion, is able to heal his rotting hand and grant redemption.
These two images symbolize opposite sides of faith. Indika, tormented by doubts and the voice of the tempter, constantly questions Ilya's logic, noticing contradictions in his beliefs and actions.
