Recently, fans of Grand Theft Auto and other Rockstar Games projects noticed that the studio's games were removed from sale in Brazil in the studio's own launcher.
The developers explained that this is due to a change in the country's legislation:
Following the enactment of the Brazilian Digital Statute on the Rights of Children and Adolescents (“Digital ECA”), players from Brazil can no longer purchase digital versions of Rockstar games in the Rockstar Games Store or Rockstar Games Launcher for players from Brazil.
Purchased Rockstar games will still be available, and they can also be purchased in other stores, such as the PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store, Steam, and Epic Games Store.
In addition, the ability to donate to GTA Online (buy currency cards) remains — the changes did not affect them.
