According to Oyama, at the beginning of the game, the balance between hacking and shooting is approximately equal. As you progress, modules and abilities are unlocked that allow you to customize the style to suit you.
Cho Yong-hee said:
Depending on how you configure the build, one hack sometimes does more damage than one shot, so the play styles will vary greatly.
The developers confirmed that at the March preview, some participants completed the demo only through hacking. At the same time, the authors themselves play differently.
Oyama's opinion:
I prefer to focus on hacking. Since damage can be dealt by chaining hacks together, I usually gradually reduce the health of enemies in this way. When a lot of damage is needed, I use powerful weapons or multi-hacking to overload several targets at once.
Cho, on the contrary, relies on action:
I play Pragmata as an action game and more often use strategies based on the combat system. But sometimes I switch to hacking. By combining techniques, you can put several enemies into a finishing state and quickly deal with the group.
Pragmata will be released on April 17, 2026 on PC (Steam), PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Switch 2. The demo is already available.
