Fans have long been asking Capcom to remake this installment of the franchise.
Specific insider Dusk Golem (AestheticGamer1) continues to talk about the alleged remake of Resident Evil Code: Veronica.
It seems that the developers are planning to change the structure of the game:
I've heard that Resident Evil: Code Veronica is generally slightly expanded — nothing is cut, some elements are heavily reworked (they say it's the remake with the most changes and differences from the original, but all enemies, locations, and key events remain).
According to Dusk Golem, the role of young Chris will be expanded, it will be "as complete as Claire's":
Chris's adventures will end earlier than in the original: he will have his own final battle with Wesker (now a full-fledged boss) much earlier in the story, he will be seriously injured, leaving Claire to finish what he started and fight the final boss.
It is also claimed that the remake of Code: Veronica is being created by Yasuhiro Anpo and Kazunori Kadoi, who worked on the remakes of Resident Evil 2 and RE 4.
