"Destroy Their Sales": Dusk Publisher Calls for Boycott of NVIDIA Over DLSS 5.0

Dave Oshry, head of the New Blood publishing house, known for Dusk, doesn't mince words. In an interview, he harshly criticized NVIDIA and called for a total boycott of the company in connection with the announcement of DLSS 5.0.

We, as game developers and as players, need to stop this crap, like we did before with NFTs or cryptocurrency-based games.

Oshry believes that the introduction of DLSS 5.0 will be the "kiss of death" for video game creation. He called on colleagues and gamers to "vote with their wallets" by boycotting NVIDIA's initiatives related to the new technology.

We need to protest more actively. The only thing we can do, besides loud criticism, is to vote with our wallets. Destroy their sales, crash their stock price. Stop collaborating with them as developers. And then, maybe, they will go back to giving us what we want.

It is almost impossible to find positive reviews of DLSS 5.0 online after its demonstration. Even the editors of Digital Foundry withdrew their laudatory material two days after publication. The presentation is called a giant PR failure for NVIDIA, especially due to the choice of Resident Evil: Requiem for the demonstration. The game is already considered one of the most beautiful and does not need such visual "improvements."
