A massive blow was dealt to bots.
In late March, Counter-Strike 2 players noticed that Valve had conducted a massive wave of account bans. We are not talking about thousands or tens of thousands of accounts — the total number of bans in this wave approached 1 million.
Soon, a Valve representative explained that the developers had banned approximately 960,000 bot accounts in Counter-Strike 2 that were used for farming. Player complaints helped with the investigation.
Some CS2 fans urged Valve not to forget about another problem with cheaters in competitive mode.
