Recently, the authors of the Heroes 5 Reborn project released a new development diary. Modders continue to port Heroes of Might & Magic V to the modern Unreal Engine 5.
A "significant number" of objects have already been implemented on the global map. Some of them are fully functional.
Work on artifacts is progressing: "almost all" have already been added to the game with mechanics and interface.
Also, modders have made many new spells. The mechanics of the schools of Light and Darkness are already ready, and the magic of Chaos is almost complete.
Some plans of the developers:
- Fill the game with new content, which will include new unique mechanics, spells, abilities, artifacts and units.
- Develop accelerated game modes including an arena mode in which players can assemble a build and go into battle without playing on the global map
- Saturate the gameplay on the global map and increase replayability due to a new more diverse map generation
