Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game - Release Date Announced for Consoles and PC

Gameplay Group and PM Studios have announced that Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game will be released on July 2, 2026, for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and Steam. The PS4 version, which was previously planned, appears to have been canceled.

The developers have transformed the elemental abilities of the heroes into dynamic combat mechanics. The game will be available in two editions:

  • Standard Edition ($29.99): roster of 12 fighters, story mode, arcade, training, and lessons on character techniques.
  • Deluxe Edition ($49.99): digital soundtrack, art book, and Year 1 pass, which will unlock new heroes after release.

The gameplay is a classic 2D fighting game, 1 on 1. A special feature of the project is the visual aspect: more than 900 frames of animation have been manually drawn for each character to accurately convey the style of the animated series.

The network code supports rollback netcode technology, which minimizes delays in online battles. Full crossplay has also been confirmed – players will be able to fight each other regardless of the platform. After the October announcement and closed alpha, the project is heading to the finish line.
