Arc Raiders creator Kaio Braga talked about how the game's testing is organized. As it turned out, the developers are forcing themselves to change their play style.
Braga explained that Embark Studios began using a randomizer to determine the style for the day. This way, team members could not only play aggressively, but also try a different type of gameplay.
Braga also said that at one stage of development, the Arc Raiders team considered abandoning the now famous "don't shoot" emote.
One of the interesting moments was related to the fact that our weapon designer really wanted to keep the "don't shoot" emote, and there was a lot of debate around this. After all, we were adding PvP, playing aggressively — who would even use such an emote? However, the team then said: "No, no, we believe that players will use it." And so, it stayed, and now people really like it and use it.
