According to recent information that analyst Timur222 tracked down, the PlayStation PC division has grown from a niche business worth $50 million into a true giant, generating $300 million in revenue in just three years (2021–2023). This shows that PC users were more than willing to buy games that were released on devices with the PS logo.

The amount only concerns the segment of single-player games sold on Steam, Epic Games Store, or GOG: God of War, Marvel’s Spider-Man, The Last of Us Part I, and Uncharted. It is noteworthy that the data does not take into account the subsequent arrival of games-as-a-service, including Helldivers 2 and new results from Bungie.

Despite rumors circulating online about Sony's alleged deliberate refusal to release single-player games on PC, the numbers call into question the logic of the decision. The experiment, which began with Horizon Zero Dawn, has turned into a stream of money.

The only question is whether the $300 million result was satisfactory for the Japanese giant, or whether their expectations were higher?
