The Gothic community manager responded to the discussions online and letters from fans:
"Many people wrote throughout the day in PMs, social media comments, and elsewhere asking, 'Is it true that the game's release is being postponed to August?' — NO, IT'S NOT TRUE. This is a joke from the Polish news site Gry-online in honor of April 1st, which many journalists and gaming portals took as truth.
The release of Gothic 1 Remake is scheduled for June 5, 2026.
