Fans have long dreamed of expanding the towing mechanics.
The creators of the truck driver simulators Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck Simulator are teasing update 1.59. The developers intend to expand the game mechanics.
SCS Software has introduced a new towing feature. Currently, players can call a tow truck to deliver the truck to a car service, and in version 1.59, roadside towing will appear — it will be possible to return the vehicle that has flown off the road in order to continue fulfilling the order.
The developers warned that if the trailer is disconnected beforehand, it will remain in its original position and only the truck will be towed.
They also noted that if the player drives too far away, "Roadside Towing" may become unavailable to prevent abuse of this feature.
The new towing feature will be useful both in single-player mode and in multiplayer — currently, players who have flown off the road have to return to their colleagues from the service center.
The release date for update 1.59 for Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck Simulator has not yet been announced.
